Edit Japan Ko Shi by Akiyuki Sakamoto Ko Shi is Edit Japan’s own original blade line under the Churika Series, created to express Akiyuki Sakamoto’s vision of refined Japanese craftsmanship with a distinctive contemporary identity. Developed together with Yamawaki Hamono, Ko Shi was created from an original blade specification rather than selected from an existing maker’s catalogue. The blade is forged from Ginsan steel by a specialised steel maker and sharpened by Yamawaki in Japan, resulting in a knife defined by precision, balance, and clean cutting performance. What makes Ko Shi especially distinctive is the meeting of Japanese blade-making and Churika’s design language. The handle is produced under Churika production by a Malaysian craftsman, bringing a unique character to the knife and adding a subtle cross-cultural dimension to its craftsmanship. The result is a knife that feels both understated and exceptional, rooted in Japanese tradition, elevated by thoughtful design, and made for those who value craftsmanship in every detail.
